Virtual Volunteer Opportunities

Virtual Support Volunteer
(active during disasters only)

When disaster strikes, our Virtual Support Volunteer team activates to back up our teams on the ground. These volunteers answer our food phone line, respond to questions from the community, and serve as our first line of support throughout a deployment.

Volunteer Support Services
(year round, 2-6 hours per week)

The Volunteer Support Services team is the connection between our event leaders, our volunteers, and our volunteer app. This team keeps everything organized and communicates back and forth with volunteer teams across the country.

Donor Relations Team

Our Donor Relations Team calls donors during disasters to say thank you. This role is perfect for volunteers who love to chat on the phone and connect with the generous people who help fuel our mission.

Disaster Response and The Always Serving Project®

Site Coordinator

Oversees staffing and collaboration across all areas of a site to keep operations running smoothly and ensure daily objectives are met.

Culinary Operations

Supports the processing, preparation, and cooking of meals.

Sanitation

Maintains the cleanliness and hygiene of all culinary equipment.

Expeditor (Expo)

Facilitates the distribution of large scale meal orders to community groups and partner organizations.

Camp Chef

Coordinates and prepares meals for the volunteer team throughout a deployment.

Inventory Management

Partners with the procurement department to maintain on site stock levels and handles the loading and unloading of transport vehicles.

Site Volunteer Administration

Manages registration for on site personnel, coordinates lodging and hospitality for volunteers, and assists with incoming calls.

Administrative Support

Keeps site logistics structured and operational.

F.A.S.T. Team

Manages the setup and ongoing maintenance of all equipment throughout a deployment.

Warehouse Assistance

Maintain equipment and keep our warehouses organized and deployment ready year round.

Area Coordinators

Serve as community liaisons and local leaders. Area Coordinators gather needs based data, represent Operation BBQ Relief with state VOADs, and lead Days of Giving events in their communities.

CDL Drivers
(disaster and off season)

Commercial drivers donate their time moving Operation BBQ Relief semis and large equipment throughout the year and during disasters.

Non-CDL Drivers
(disaster and events)

Drivers with a personal three quarter ton truck or larger pull equipment to deployment sites and volunteer once they arrive.

Forklift Operators
(disaster)

Certified forklift operators move pallets of incoming shipments around deployment sites.

Warehouse Support
(disaster and off season)

Help us maintain equipment, clean supplies, repack trailers, and get trucks and trailers ready for deployments and events all year long.

Camp OBR™

Camp Chef

Manages food service during Camp OBR™ events.

Kitchen & Dining Area Volunteers

Assist the Camp Chef with food preparation, oversee cleaning of the culinary center, and handle dishwashing.

Housekeeping

Handles laundry and maintains cabin cleanliness.

Outdoor Maintenance

Cares for the facility's exterior and landscaping.

Activity Leaders

Support Camp OBR™ camper experiences such as hiking, fishing, archery, ax throwing, kayaking, and boating.
