Rogers, Arkansas (Tornado) / 6,395 Meals Over 9 Days

May 28, 2024 | Deployments

On May 26, 2024, multiple tornadoes tore through Northwest Arkansas and left destruction in their wake. Within 48 hours, we were on the ground in Rogers, Ark. to provide the “One Hot Meal That Matters” to people impacted by the storms. Over the course of nine days, we provided a total of 6,395 meals. We owe a debt of gratitude to our friends at Wright’s Barbecue who opened their doors to us and helped our disaster response team prepare and serve meals.

We are incredibly thankful to Walmart and Sam’s Club employees who “sparked good” by volunteering to help us provide hot meals and hope to their community. Walmart also generously allowed us to serve meals at one of their locations. We also extend our special appreciation to Blue Rhino and Ferrellgas, whose donation of propane helped fuel this deployment. We also thank Martin’s Famous Potato Rolls & Bread whose gift of bread helped us feed those impacted by the storms.

We thank all our volunteers, sponsors, community partners, and staff whose hard work, sacrifices, and contributions made this deployment possible. Due to their swift action and support, we brought the Healing Power of BBQ to first responders, residents, and relief workers affected by this tragic event.
