Pikeville, Kentucky (Flood) / 15,150 Meals Over 12 Days

Feb 18, 2025 | Deployments

When devastating storms swept through the Appalachian states on Feb. 14-15, 2025, the resulting floods left a trail of destruction. Lives were lost, homes and businesses were washed away, and communities were left reeling. In the face of this tragedy, Operation BBQ Relief quickly mobilized, moving equipment from our Tennessee warehouse to Pike County, Kentucky.

By Feb. 18, we were on the ground, providing hot meals to those sheltering from the disaster. Partnering with other organizations, we extended our reach into Virginia and West Virginia, ensuring that food and comfort made it to as many people as possible. Over nine days, we had the privilege of providing more than 15,000 meals to residents, relief workers, first responders, and National Guardsmen—each plate filled with warmth, nourishment, and the message that they were not alone.

This effort wouldn’t have been possible without our dedicated volunteers, generous sponsors, donors, and supporters. Your kindness and commitment fueled our mission—thank you for standing with us.

To our friends in Kentucky, Virginia, and West Virginia: Your resilience, strength, and generosity have been truly inspiring. Though our deployment has ended, our support for you never will.

Stay strong, stay hopeful, and know this—if you ever need us again, we’ll be back with more BBQ, more comfort, and more friendship.
