On June 25, 2026, Operation BBQ Relief (OBR) volunteers had the distinct privilege of cooking, delivering, and serving 50 hot meals to Class #83 of the St. Petersburg College Fire Academy in Florida.
These dedicated students just completed 492 hours of intensive classroom and hands-on training. We were incredibly honored to celebrate their achievements as they officially embark on their careers as first responders and community heroes.
During the event, OBR volunteer Alan Jones shared insights from his own 27.5-year career in the fire service. He also introduced the graduates to OBR’s mission: feeding communities after disasters and enriching heroes’ lives every day. We hope to welcome many of these hardworking graduates to our volunteer ranks in the future!
A huge thank you to St. Petersburg College Fire Academy Director Jevon Graham for inviting us to participate. We are proud to support and give back to the next generation of firefighters!
