On July 24th, we had the honor of welcoming these brave survivors from TAPS to Camp OBR. Their resilience in the face of unimaginable grief after losing their sons and fathers in the military left us both humbled and inspired. They experienced culinary therapy with John David Wheeler in our Culinary Education Center, and contributed to a memorial gazebo, by building benches and installing dog tags engraved with their loved ones’ names. Throughout their time at Camp OBR they forged deep connections with each other and enjoyed the great outdoors. They’ve become part of our extended family, and we miss them already. We look forward to their return and hope they’ll visit often.
Thank you to the sponsors, donors, volunteers, and staff who continue to make this dream of a healing place for our heroes and their families a reality. None of this happens without you.
