Camp OBR Suffers Devastating Fire, Urgently Seeks Community Support
Camp OBR, Operation BBQ Relief’s sanctuary for members of the military, veterans, first responders, and families of fallen military heroes, experienced a tragic setback as an electrical fire swept through its premises last night just 24 hours after concluding its first camp for young adult survivors from TAPS. The blaze resulted in the complete loss of newly constructed bathhouse, laundry facilities, garages, and crucial equipment, including linens, tools, ATVs, and golf carts.
While no injuries were reported, the camp is facing a critical need to replace essential items before our upcoming camps. Despite having insurance coverage for rebuilding efforts, immediate community support is indispensable to expedite recovery.
“We are devastated by this unexpected event and deeply grateful that no one was injured” said Stan Hays, CEO and Co-Founder. “Our priority now is to restore these facilities as quickly as possible to continue serving those who have sacrificed so much for our country.”
Camp OBR invites the community to join hands in this effort by making donations. Every contribution will make a significant impact in ensuring the camp is ready to welcome Military Service Members, Veterans, First Responders, Families of Fallen Heroes, and the cherished loved ones who stand beside them.
