In July, Operation BBQ Relief The Always Serving Project volunteers served lunch to 160 veterans at the Asheville VA Medical Center in North Carolina, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development – Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) Program. The program provides rental assistance and supportive services to homeless veterans.
As part of this Day of Giving, our volunteers also delivered 250 bulk meals to homeless veterans residing at the Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry’s Veterans Restoration Quarters and Transformation Village.
