Kerrville, Texas (Flood) / 45,837 Meals Over 18 Days

Jul 4, 2025 | Deployments

On July 4th, 2025, floodwaters ripped through Kerrville and the surrounding Texas Hill Country—washing out roads, destroying homes, and claiming at least 135 lives. Entire communities were left grieving, without power, and unsure of what would come next.

Operation BBQ Relief arrived on July 5th—not with all the answers, but with hot barbecue, open hearts, and a promise to stand beside this community for as long as needed.

Over the next 18 days, we served 45,837 meals to displaced families, exhausted first responders, and military recovery teams working around the clock. Every plate was a small gesture of comfort during overwhelming loss.

This mission was powered by 410 volunteers who gave more than 5,300 hours of their time. They smoked, chopped, packed, and served in the Texas heat—no complaints, just heart.

We witnessed courage in the face of heartbreak, neighbors lifting each other up, and moments of connection that reminded us why we do what we do.

To the people of the Hill Country: thank you for trusting us to serve you during such painful days. Your strength, grace, and grit will stay with us forever.

This is why we BBQ.
