Hurricane Helene’s devastating impact on the Southeast called for an unprecedented response, and our team rose to the challenge. In just 29 days, our dedicated crew provided nearly 600,000 meals in five states, reaching people in need in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
Beginning our mission mere hours after the storm, we mobilized a caravan of 18 vehicles from Birmingham, Alabama, arrived in Tallahassee, Florida, and began distributing meals within 48 hours. As part of our most extensive deployment to date, we established six key deployment sites in multiple states—Tallahassee and Pinellas Park, FL; Augusta, GA; Boone and Hendersonville, NC; and Johnson City, TN. Partnering with the American Red Cross, we reached even the most remote and hard-hit areas and extended our support into South Carolina. Over 29 days, we served a total of 595,461 meals.
This effort was only possible through the hard work of our volunteers, the support of our sponsors, and the dedication of our community partners and staff. Every person involved played a crucial role, sacrificing their time and energy to bring relief to residents, first responders, and relief workers impacted by Hurricane Helene. Together, we made a real difference when it was needed most.
