Richardson, Texas (Storm Response) / 1,750 Meals Over 3 Days

May 29, 2024 | Deployments

On Tuesday, May 28, 2024, severe weather swept through North Texas causing widespread power outages impacting thousands of people. Within 48 hours, we were on the ground in Richardson, Texas providing meals to first responders, residents, and relief workers impacted by the storms. We were honored to provide the “One Hot Meal That Matters” 1,750 times over the course of three days. We are incredibly thankful to our friends at the Network of Community Ministries. When our original cook site and feeding location were rained out, they opened their doors and provided us with a safe place to prepare and distribute meals, and volunteers to assist our disaster response team.

Special appreciation also goes out to QTS Data Centers and Verizon whose workers helped us provide the Healing Power of BBQ to the people impacted by this storm. We are incredibly thankful to all our volunteers, sponsors, community partners, and staff whose hard work, sacrifices, and contributions made this deployment possible. We couldn’t have done it without you!
