The Carr Fire began on July 23, 2018 and burned more than 218,000 acres in California. It caused evacuations of over 36,000 people in Shasta and Trinity counties. Almost 2,000 structures were either damaged or destroyed and over $1.659 billion in damages occurred. Operation BBQ Relief volunteers served hot meals to residents and first responders.
