North Dallas, Texas (Tornado) / 1,450 Meals Over 2 Days

Oct 22, 2019 | Deployments

On the night of October 20, 2019, a severe storm system moved across the Southeast United States. The storm included tornadoes and caused damage across the state of Texas, with Dallas being the hardest hit. In Dallas, an EF3 tornado created a 15 mile path of destruction and left 242,000 homes and businesses without power. With support from generous sponsors (Lowe’s Home Improvement, Sunbelt Rentals, and The Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services USA), Operation BBQ Relief provided hot meals to residents, first responders, and the Lowe’s and Farmers Insurance employees who worked to help those impacted to obtain the products and assistance they needed.
