Hurricane Laura, which was one of the strongest hurricanes on record, made landfall in Louisiana on August 27, 2020. With sustained winds of 150 miles per hour, Hurricane Laura inflicted an estimated 10 billion dollars in damage and caused the deaths of at least 26 people in Louisiana. In response to the damage inflicted on the Lake Charles community, Operation BBQ Relief provided aid to the victims in the form of a hot meal during the rebuilding process.
