Hurricane Harvey, a Category 4 hurricane, struck Texas and neighboring states after making landfall on August 17, 2017. Hurricane Harvey caused catastrophic flooding and the deaths of over 100 people. The hurricane also caused an estimated $125 billion in damages. During this deployment, Operation BBQ Relief operated from three areas: Houston, Beaumont/Silsbee, and Victoria/Rockport. At the time, this was Operation BBQ Relief’s largest and longest deployment.
