Houma, Louisiana (Hurricane) / 26,625 Meals Over 9 Days

Sep 12, 2024 | Deployments

Hurricane Francine made landfall on Louisiana’s southern coast on September 11, 2024, as a Category 2, leaving widespread power outages and flooding in its wake. We were on the ground in Houma, La. within 48 hours serving the “One Hot Meal That Matters” to those in need, in partnership with the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux and Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux. In all, we provided 26,625 meals to people impacted by Hurricane Francine over eight days.

We owe a tremendous thank you to our volunteers, sponsors, community partners, and staff. Your hard work, sacrifices, and contributions made this deployment possible. Together, we’ve made a real difference for the residents, relief workers, and first responders affected by this storm.

Louisiana, your hospitality never ceases to amaze us! With eight deployments and over a million meals served, the strength and resilience of your people continue to inspire. We already miss you and want you to know that if another disaster hits, we’ll be back—with hot meals and hope.
