Fremont, Nebraska (Flood) / 15,830 Meals Over 18 Days

Mar 20, 2019 | Deployments

In late March of 2019, heavy rains in Nebraska caused widespread flooding that resulted in the damage or destruction of 2,000 homes and 340 businesses. Additionally, there was 1.3 billion dollars worth of damage to infrastructure, crops, and cattle. Operation BBQ Relief partnered with The Salvation Army and Famous Dave’s to aid Fremont County, which was hit particularly hard. With Famous Dave’s providing the facilities and manpower and the Salvation Army handling the distribution, residents were able to find fortitude and a renewal of hope in these meals.
