Hurricane Sally, a Category 2 hurricane with winds of up to 105 miles per hour and multiple feet of rainfall, was devastating for many Florida residents. In Escambia County, more than 400 people had to be rescued following storm surge flooding. At least $29 million worth of damage was sustained between September 11 and 18, 2020. Operation BBQ Relief mobilized its volunteers to bring some stability and a sense of comfort to the victims.
