Adairsville, Georgia (Tornado) / 5,000 Meals Over 3 Days

On Wednesday, January 30, 2013, a high end EF3 tornado struck northwest Bartow and central Gordon counties in Georgia. With peak winds estimated to be 160 miles per hour, the tornado left a path of destruction 21.8 miles long and up to 900 yards wide. The tornado resulted in one fatality and 17 injuries and damaged multiple structures. Operation BBQ Relief deployed to Adairsville in record time to serve hot BBQ meals to those impacted.
