Houston, Texas – Tunnel to Towers Foundation

Aug 31, 2024 | Days of Giving

The Operation BBQ Relief team, led by our Senior Director of Logistics & Inventory Chris Huggins, was proud to provide 150 hot barbecue meals to the veteran residents of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation’s Veterans Village in Houston, Texas on Aug. 31, 2024. We also conducted a BBQ Academy, led by our legendary pitmaster Chef Johnny Imbriolo, which taught these military veterans about the art, craft, and science of barbecue and its ability to positively impact the spirit. At the end of the BBQ Academy, the participants with the best steaks received recognition, and service awards were presented by the county commissioner to veterans who helped clean up after Hurricane Beryl.

We were honored to express our deep gratitude to these brave heroes through this event as part of The Always Serving Project, our initiative to support military service members, veterans, first responders, families of the fallen, and their loved ones. We are incredibly grateful to the volunteers, staff, and other supporters who made this event possible!
