On Friday, August 4, Operation BBQ Relief volunteers were on the ground at U.S. Coast Guard Base Elizabeth City in North Carolina, celebrating the U.S. Coast Guard’s 233rd birthday! They served 5,000 meals to active duty and retired Coast Guardsmen, their family members, and workers at the installation.
This event is just one example of Operation BBQ Relief’s “Blue Sky” programs that aim to serve others year-round, not only during times of crisis. This Day of Giving through The Always Serving Project allowed us to express our gratitude to and serve those who serve us. We are so appreciative to our Coast Guardsmen for all they do to keep us safe.
