From June 10th to June 14th, 2024, we hosted an unforgettable retreat for young adult survivors of military loss from TAPS at Camp OBR. This incredible group of young adults, aged 18 to 29, had experienced the profound loss of parents, siblings, and spouses. Over the course of their stay, they engaged in culinary therapy with Sunny Lynn Moody, enjoyed a variety of outdoor activities such as water sports, ATVs, archery, and gardening, and shared memorable moments including bonding over s’mores in the evenings. They left Camp OBR with new life skills and lasting friendships. We’re excited to share that several of them have already signed up to volunteer with Operation BBQ Relief, so keep an eye out for them at future deployments.
