In terms of pressure, Hurricane Michael was the third-most intense Atlantic hurricane to make landfall in the contiguous United States. Hurricane Michael was a Category 5 hurricane that caused extensive damage in the United States and Central America, particularly in Panama City. Hurricane-force wind gusts, heavy rainfall, and higher than normal tides along the gulf coast resulted in 74 deaths and $25 billion in damages. Operation BBQ Relief mobilized its volunteers to bring some stability and a sense of comfort to the victims as they worked to recover and rebuild their community.
