7 Disasters in 6 States

In 2016, Operation BBQ Relief deployed to 7 disasters in 6 states.  Approximately 536,874 meals were served over 45 days.  The first deployment of the year in January was in response to flooding in St. Louis. In March, OBR deployed to Louisiana (Monroe, Shreveport and West Monroe) in response to flooding.  OBR was deployed there for 9 days and served over 58,000 meals.  In June, OBR responded to flooding in White Sulfur Springs, West Virginia, where over 30,000 meals were served over 8 days.  In July, OBR deployed to Eureka, Kansas after a tornado disaster.

The largest deployment of the year was in August, when OBR went to Hammond and Baton Rouge, Louisiana, after massive flooding.  OBR spent 13 days serving over 313,000 meals.  In October, a hurricane hit Fayetteville and Lumberton, North Carolina.  OBR was deployed for 8 days, serving over 118,000 meals.  The last deployment of 2016 was to Gatlinburg, Tennesee in response to a massive fire.
