On November 17th, 2013, multiple tornadoes tore through Illinois and caused widespread power outages and structural damage that affected thousands. One of the two EF4 tornadoes ripped directly through Washington. Operation BBQ volunteers were able to directly provide meals in Washington’s hardest hit neighborhoods. During this deployment, Operation BBQ reached its first big milestone. In only thirty months since its formation, Operation BBQ served its 500,000th meal!
