On May 29, 2025, firefighters from across the region rushed to battle a massive fire at the historic St. John’s Catholic Church in Maria Stein, Ohio.
As crews worked for hours to contain the flames, our Ohio Area Coordinator Dave Meyer jumped into action—rallying local partners to help serve hot meals to the firefighters on the scene.
We can’t thank Holy Smokes and Barbeque and Wagner’s IGA in Minster, Ohio enough for stepping up on short notice to help feed more than 120 brave first responders.
Our hearts are with the Maria Stein community and everyone affected by the loss of this landmark church.
