Louis Pratt

Sep 21, 2023 | Volunteer Spotlights

Ever since Hurricane Florence hit North Carolina in 2018, Louis Pratt has been an integral part of the Operation BBQ Relief family, serving on more deployments with our disaster response team and The Always Serving Project than he can count. He recently served as site lead on our deployment to Live Oak, Fl. to help feed residents, first responders, and relief workers impacted by Hurricane Idalia.

“There are lots of reasons why I volunteer with Operation BBQ Relief. One of them is because I went through Hurricane Fran in 1996, and know first-hand what it’s like to see your community in devastation and go through those stages of grief,” Louis said. “There is sometimes a look people have in their eyes when they come by to get a meal, and I can tell they need someone to talk to and I try to be that person. One thing you have to understand about Operation BBQ Relief is that what we offer is so much more than a meal, we also offer hope and compassion.”

Thanks so much for your leadership and support, Louis!
