From the Heart

July 2021

Message from the Co-Founders

Operation BBQ Relief has been busy preparing for future deployments. Our team recently held a mock deployment in partnership with The Salvation Army in Dallas, Texas. The mock deployment prepared staff and volunteers to be called into action at a moment’s notice. We practiced procedures and protocol to further streamline our deployment process.

The Always Serving Project continues to serve that one hot meal that matters. From coast to coast, area coordinators and volunteers spread the mission of Operation BBQ Relief. In San Diego, California, Operation BBQ Relief provided 600 meals to first responders that participated in the US Police and Fire Championships. In Hillsville, Virginia, Operation BBQ Relief teamed up with the Daughters of the American Revolution to deliver meals to home-bound veterans.

We are constantly reminded of the importance of the work we do at Operation BBQ Relief. A mother who received a meal from us during the COVID-19 pandemic recently expressed her gratitude, “Because of your organization I was able to feed my family while we were furloughed. The meals were such a blessing to a new mama who just needed something to be easy during a difficult time.”

Thank you to our staff, volunteers, and supporters for helping us serve the one hot meal that matters. Your dedication to connecting, inspiring, serving, educating, and feeding others furthers the mission of Operation BBQ Relief daily.

We wish you and your family a safe and joyful 4th of July!

Much respect,

Stan Hays, CEO
Will Cleaver, CPO and Head of Finance
