Pilger, Nebraska (Twin Tornados) / 6,800 Meals over 4 Days

On June 16, 2014, a supercell storm spawned multiple tornadoes in Nebraska, three of which were EF4 twisters impacting Stanton County.  The town of Pilger took a direct hit while a twin tornado cut a parallel path nearby.  The tornadoes resulted in 2 fatalities, 20 critical injuries, and millions of dollars in damage to homes, businesses, and farmsteads.

Operation BBQ Relief volunteers, led by Troy Youngblood, arrived June 19, setting up basecamp at the Wisner-Pilger High School.  Thanks to the support of countless individuals, BBQ teams, businesses/corporations, and donations that poured in from across the state, we provided hot BBQ meals throughout Pilger and the neighboring communities.
